GENESIS
Chapters 1-3: From the Creation to the Fall of Mankind

Consistency between the creation order and current geological findings.
The creation of the universe with man's welfare being of foremost priority.
Creation at God's command, His words.
Mankind created in the image of God: 1:27, Psalm 8 &139
Man: appointed role of leader, provider and giver
Woman: appointed role of helper, support and recipient
Beginning of Sin: Ch 3 (Doctrine of sin: v1-7,
God's judgment: v 8-19,
Hope of reconciliation: v20-24)
Symbolism of Eden's two trees: God's word (His very own knowledge)
God' Spirit (His very own life)

However, after the Fall, having been used by the devil, 'the tree of the knowledge' turned to be a "symbol of the devil" who has brought death, while 'the tree of life' remained as a "symbol of God" who brings life and continued to be protected by God's angels.

Chapters 4-5 From the Fall of Mankind to the Flood
Sin offering (the sacrifice of animals for the atonement of sin) 4:2-5
What does it mean to sin? = disobedience to God's commands
One must overcome sin 4:6-7
The birth of Seth; the murder of Abel by Cain did not thwart God's plan 4:25
Seth and Cain's family tree (The contrast between a line that walks with God, and a line that is tainted with evil; however, the bible does not divide the genealogy of humanity into two lines of good and evil; Cain's descendants contributed to human civilisation, perhaps as a reward for his change of heart/ways?) Ch5
